I have been doing wedding photography for over 10 years and have photographed over 200 weddings. I love getting to know the couples I work with. Through our detailed planning session conversations, I feel that by the time the wedding day has arrived, I have a very clear idea of what they are looking for. I want them to relax and have fun and it’s my honor to document one of the happiest days of their lives!
In 1989 I graduated with a degree in psychology from San Francisco State University. I took many photography classes. I had a strong desire to combine my interest of photography, and helping people and turning it into a career. After school I began working at a custom photo lab. I am thankful for that job. I learned a tremendous amount about how film and paper types affect images. I was able to put that knowledge into creating a clean professional product.
In 1993 I left the photo lab to take up the fantastic opportunity to start working as an assistant to fine art photographer, Steve Solinsky. I created Nevada City Photography in 1996 and started building my business slowly as I was working for Steve Solinsky. During that time, I learned so much about the business of producing and selling fine art. Since the job only needed me part time I started taking on some extra work photographing weddings. I worked with him until my son was born in 2004.
I truly believe that this is what I was put on this planet to do!
